Greetings from the homestead and kazoo factory!!! Well another season has passed and we find ourselves easing on in to summer. It certainly has been a beautiful spring at the kazoo factory and a quite busy one as well. I would like to start off this newsletter with a big thank you to everyone that stopped by and bought a kazoo and for all the kind comments, great videos and pictures you have shared. They are all appreciated very much.
All spring I have been kept busy in the workshop making special order kazoos. Looking back on spring and winter kazoo orders as compared to all last year it is pretty obvious that almost everyone wants a special order kazoo!!! Everybody loves the video visits to watch their kazoo being made! Also want to say thanks for all the great comments on the video updates!! I do enjoy putting them together though sometimes it can be very demanding you have two or three different special order kazoos being made at the same time LOL! As you may have read or heard me say my goal has always been to be more than a website with a shopping cart. I do believe that thanks to video I have been able to achieve that goal! Plus I love making special order kazoos. I have really met some great kazoo people the past few years since coming online.
So a big old Doc Kazoo THANK YOU!!! to everyone....
Doc

YOUTUBE DRAGON STRIKES THE KAZOO FACTORY
Spring was beautiful but all was not totally well. About a month ago I accidentally deleted the Kazoo Factory YouTube Channel!!!! :(
I immediately discovered that I could not retrieve, restore or fix what I had done. As result nearly 300 videos and over 10,000 video views were lost forever!!! Naturally I did not have backups of the videos that are essential to replace like "How To Install A Resonator Membrane", the factory tour, etc.
Since it was a start from scratch solution I decided to make lemonade out of lemons and build a better channel. To start with you will now find video categories. So if you want to see that resonator membrane changing video you don have to scroll through lots of videos all grouped in one stack, as was the case at the old YouTube channel. You now only need to go to the "How To" category and find it fast. I am also sharing YouTube Videos that I receive from customers. It's a lot more organized and neat now LOL.
There is also a change with regards to how I post the Special Order Update Videos. As in the past the past a customer usually has 2-3 video updates for a kazoo. On the old YouTube Channel I just left all three available to the public. Which really got to be kinda confusing LOL.
On the new YouTube Channel I will post all videos as before however a week or so after I post the final video update I will make private all previous update videos associated with that order. The final update video will remain available to the public. The other videos are still available to the owner of that kazoo and can view or share it as they please.
Just in case you have the old YouTube Channel link here is the new one:
The new YouTube Channel is "Doc Kazoo".
I have replaced quite a few of the lost how to videos with what I think are much better quality. Be sure and check out the YouTube Channel from time to time. I have been trying to post a Sunday Morning Acoustic Guitar "Picking On The Porch Tune" LOL. Nothing fancy just an old kazoo maker picking and enjoying the sunrise.

INTRODUCING THE NEW LINE OF DOC KAZOO'S
FATBOY KAZOOS
FATBOY KAZOOS
I am very happy to announce and introduce the complete line of Doc Kazoo's FatBoy Kazoo. The Collector, The Performer, The Studio and the Pocket FatBoy Kazoos.
For the past few months I have been thinking about doing this. The FatBoy Performer Kazoo has truly become the "Workhorse Kazoo" of the kazoo factory. I have always considered the FatBoy the kazoo equivalent to the Gibson Les Paul so to speak. So as the Les Paul has a Custom, Standard and Studio model I thought similar would be great for the FatBoy. Thus we now have the Collector, Performer and Studio FatBoy Kazoos.
The Pocket FatBoy was a brainstorm I had while making the other three models. I pick and kazoo with a neck brace and my old 6" kazoo. The problem for me with a kazoo that long in a neckbrace is that when I pick I tend to turn my head down towards my guitar strings and can bring the kazoo into contact with the strings. I got to thinking how great it would be to have the power, range and control of a FatBoy that was much shorter!. This was a very successful experiment. I am very pleased with the 3" Pocket FatBoy Kazoo.
Here is a demonstration video for the New FatBoy Line of Kazoos::

Well that about does it for the Summer 2012 Newsletter. With summer quickly approaching the workshop will change to "Tropical Working Hours" very soon as the daily temperatures rise into the high 90's. Soon it will be too hot to work in the shop after 2:00 pm. So a normal workday will start before sunrise and end early afternoon. We have also just entered Hurricane Season at the Kazoo Factory. The past couple seasons have been fairly calm for us except for some torrential Tropical Storm rains. Hopefully this year will be calm once again.
I do have on new kazoo project on the drawing board that I hope to start soon I call this "The Great Aswego Kazoo American Road Trip". The basic idea is to make a special edition FatBoy Kazoo and send it to old Aswego Kazoo Customers across America for them to take a picture of the kazoo somewhere in their community and sign the kazoo. Once the kazoo has finished the road trip it will be donated to the Kazoo Museum at Kazoobie Kazoos.
Still got lots of details to figure out but I think we could pull this off and perhaps get out humble kazoo some great publicity along the way.
If you would be interested in being part of the Great Aswego Kazoo American Road Trip please send me an email. This would mean you would have to ship the kazoo to the next stop on the road trip which would cost you around $3. Everyone that participates in the road trip will have their name entered into a drawing for a Doc Kazoo's Collector FatBoy Kazoo.
Please send emails to dockazoo@aswegohomestead.com and enter "Kazoo Road Trip" in the subject line. I look forward to hearing from you.
Wishing each of you a beautiful summer. See you again in the fall.
best of regards,
Doc Kazoo
